The Peruvian Raúl Martín Maylli Rivera, better known by his nickname "Dumbo", who had been arrested in October of last year in the city of Lima after remaining a fugitive for almost a year and a half from the Argentine Justice, will be extradited to the country to be tried. as head of an organization dedicated to the sale of drugs in the Padre Mugica neighborhood, in Villa Lugano, judicial sources confirmed to Télam. Supreme Resolution 180/2023 signed by the president of Peru, Dina Boluarte Zegarra, and by the Minister of Justice and Human Rights of that country, Daniel Maurate Romero, indicates in the first point that the "request for passive extradition with "simplified procedure for the delivery of Peruvian citizen Raúl Martín Maylli Rivera to be processed in the Argentine Republic." Although there is still no extradition date, "Dumbo" must respond before federal judge number 10 Julián Ercolini for the crimes of "trade in narcotics aggravated by the involvement of three or more organized people, by the intervention of minors and by having committed in the vicinity of establishments where sports activities are carried out; organization or financing of activities related to the trade of narcotics, their entry into the national territory and smuggling; and collection of firearms and ammunition. For these same crimes, at the beginning of the month 18 members of the gang led by "Dumbo" were convicted and two others who were minors, including his son, were declared responsible for the crimes they were accused of. In the resolution signed in Peru - to which Télam had access - the Peruvian State requested that Argentina grant it the assurance that Maylli Rivera will be given "the time of deprivation of liberty that the extradition process has demanded." . Judicial sources assured that Argentina now has 30 days to respond to this request through the Foreign Ministry, after the Ercolini court confirmed today that they would keep this proposal in mind. "With the granting of that security, they will only begin to see transfer dates," a source with access to the extradition request told Télam, who assured that "it is likely that 'Dumbo' will only be sent to the country in 45 or 60 days." .
