Argentine star Lionel Messi was not part of the Inter Miami delegation that traveled this Friday to the state of Georgia to face Atlanta United this Saturday in Major League Soccer (MLS) and remained at his home in Florida, where he had Argentine pizza for dinner. .

The captain of the world champion team in Qatar 2022 shared a story on his Instagram account in which a Banchero Miami box is opened with a Neapolitan pizza inside.

The almost century-old food house, founded by a Genoese immigrant in the Buenos Aires neighborhood of La Boca, has had a branch in Miami Beach since 2019.

In the Instagram bio, the gastronomic house presents itself as "the best Argentine pizza since 1932", "creator of fugazzas" and also as "Leo Messi's favorite pizza".

The Argentine star treated himself to a Neapolitan after being excluded from the trip to Atlanta as a precaution due to physical exhaustion that did not allow him to play last Tuesday in La Paz with Argentina on the second round of the South American Qualifiers.

In a press conference he gave on Friday, Inter Miami coach, Argentine Gerardo Martino, clarified that Messi "is fine" but that he will manage his efforts to avoid suffering injuries.

"We will be careful with him because we have many important games in a short time," warned "Tata."

Until October 18, Inter Miami will play eight games, including the final of the US Open Cup against Houston Dynamo, on Wednesday the 27th, at home at the DRV PNK Stadium in Fort Lauderdale.

Added to the double date in October for the South American Qualifiers (Thursday the 12th vs. Paraguay and Tuesday the 17th vs. Peru), Messi will have a grueling schedule of ten games in 33 days ahead of him.

Since his debut in Miami, on July 21, the captain played eleven games with "Las Garzas" and one with Argentina, between which he averaged a goal per game.

His team will appear this Saturday from 6:00 p.m. in Argentina at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta in search of a new victory that reinforces their hopes of advancing to the final phase of the season.

Currently, the Florida franchise is six points away from accessing the relocation playoff and twelve points away from the last place that accredits a direct pass to the round of 16 in the Eastern Conference.

After this Saturday's match, Inter will play with Toronto (20-9), Orlando (24-9), Houston (27-9) -the final of the US Open Cup-, New York FC (30-9), Chicago (4-10), Cincinnati (7-10) and Charlotte (18-10), a game pending in the 27th. MLS date.
